DU Auto Migration Result 2026 - What It Means and How to Stop It
DU auto-migration automatically moves an admitted student to a higher-preference subject when a seat opens up in a later merit round. Check your current subject allocation at admission.eis.du.ac.bd, and use the Stop Migration option there if you want to keep your current subject instead of risking another change.
Quick facts
- DU auto-migration only moves a student to a subject they ranked higher on their own Subject Choice Form - never to a lower-ranked or unrequested subject.
If you were admitted to Dhaka University but not your first-choice subject, auto-migration is the mechanism that can move you there later - automatically, unless you opt out.
Direct answer
DU auto-migration automatically moves an admitted student to a higher-preference subject when a seat opens up in a later merit round. Check your current allocation at admission.eis.du.ac.bd, and use the Stop Migration option there if you'd rather keep your current subject than risk being moved again.
How DU auto-migration works
- After your unit's admission test result, you submit a Subject Choice Form (SIF) online, ranking every subject in your unit by preference.
- You're allocated a subject in the first merit list, based on your test rank and subject availability.
- In later rounds, seats open up in higher-ranked subjects as some admitted students don't confirm their seat.
- If a seat opens in a subject you ranked above your current allocation, the system automatically moves you there - this is auto-migration.
Example: you ranked Physics 1st, Chemistry 2nd, Botany 3rd. You were first allocated Botany. In the next round a Chemistry seat opens - auto-migration moves you to Chemistry without any action from you.
How to check your migration status
- Go to admission.eis.du.ac.bd.
- Click Login and enter your HSC roll, SSC roll, board, and passing year.
- Open your Dashboard → Migration Status or Result.
How to stop migration
If you're satisfied with your current subject and don't want to risk further changes:
- Log in to admission.eis.du.ac.bd.
- Open your dashboard.
- Click Stop Migration.
This locks your current allocation for the remaining rounds.
What migration does not do
- It never moves you to a lower-ranked subject than your current one.
- It never removes your admission - you keep a seat throughout, just potentially in a different (better-ranked) subject.
- It does not require a fee or a new application - it runs automatically against your existing SIF ranking.
