About Madrasah Board
The Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board administers the Alim examination - the HSC-equivalent qualification for madrasah students. Results are published simultaneously with general HSC results through the same central portal, under the "Alim" examination type.
Unlike the nine geographic boards, Madrasah Board isn't tied to a district - it has nationwide jurisdiction over madrasah (Islamic) education. It began operating independently in 1979 and is headquartered at Baksibazar, Dhaka, under the Ministry of Education. Beyond Alim, it also governs three other levels:
- Dakhil - the SSC-equivalent level
- Fazil - an undergraduate-level madrasah degree
- Kamil - a graduate-level madrasah degree

Because Madrasah Board's HSC-equivalent exam is called Alim rather than HSC, make sure you select Alim, not HSC, in the Examination field on the central portal - selecting the wrong exam type is one of the most common reasons students think their result "isn't showing" when it's actually just filed under a different exam name.
